James Sutherland, 2nd Lord Duffus1 
He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Duffus [S., 1650] on 31 August 1674.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1686.2 He killed a creditor, William Ross, of Kindeace. He fled to England where he received immunity for the murder.2
