     Alexander Robertson was baptised in 1747.¹ He was the son of James Robertson.¹ He married Catherine Sinclair, daughter of James Sinclair of Durran and Elizabeth Dunbar, in 1788.¹ He died in 1791.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.¹ He lived at Jamaica^G.¹

     Elizabeth Sinclair is the daughter of James Sinclair of Durran and Elizabeth Dunbar.² She married William Robertson of Auchinroath in 1775.¹
     From 1775, her married name became Robertson.¹

     Hon. Mary Scarlett Campbell was born on 16 August 1827 at St. Martins in the Fields, London, England^G.² She was the daughter of John Campbell, 1st Baron Campbell of St. Andrews and Mary Elizabeth Scarlett, Baroness Stratheden of Cupar.¹ She married Joseph Alfred Hardcastle, son of Alfred Hardcastle, on 8 July 1869 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² She died after 1901.¹
     From 8 July 1869, her married name became Hardcastle.¹

     William Robertson of Auchinroath married Elizabeth Sinclair, daughter of James Sinclair of Durran and Elizabeth Dunbar, in 1775.¹

     Joseph Alfred Hardcastle was born on 15 September 1815 at Clapham, London, England^G.² He was the son of Alfred Hardcastle.² He married, firstly, Frances Lambirth, daughter of H. W. Lambirth, on 24 February 1840. He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Scarlett Campbell, daughter of John Campbell, 1st Baron Campbell of St. Andrews and Mary Elizabeth Scarlett, Baroness Stratheden of Cupar, on 8 July 1869 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He died on 8 August 1899 at age 83 at Woodlands, Beaminster, Dorset, England^G.²
     He matriculated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 7 June 1834.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bury St. Edmunds.²

     Dorothea Bruce married James Sinclair of Durran, son of John Sinclair and Elizabeth Sinclair.¹
     Her married name became Sinclair.¹

     John Sinclair was the son of James Sinclair of Durran and Dorothea Bruce.² He died before 1789, without issue.¹

     George Sinclair is the son of Sir James Sinclair of Mey, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Leslie.² He married Elizabeth Sinclair, daughter of Alexander Sinclair of Latheron.¹
