John Mackay, 2nd Lord Reay1 
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Mackay [N.S., 1627] in February 1649.5 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Reay, of Reay, co. Caithness [S., 1628] in February 1649.1,5 A royalist during the Civil War.5 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sutherland in 1663.5

Sir Alexander Sutherland, 1st Lord Duffus1 
He was appointed Knight circa 1643.2 He held the office of Governor of Perth, although he was compelled to surrender it to Cromwell.2 He was created 1st Lord Duffus [Scotland] (styled as This patent was lost, but presumably it had the standard rights of succession to heirs male of the body of the grantee) on 8 December 1650.2 In 1654 he was fined £1,000 by Cromwell.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1660.2
