     Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. was born on 3 April 1866.2 He was the son of William Vansittart Bowater and Eliza Jane Davey.2,3 He married Ethel Anita Fryar, daughter of Mark Lindsay Fryar, on 8 October 1891. He died on 10 November 1947 at age 81.2
     He was commissioned in 1905, in the service of the Royal Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1908.2 He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London in 1914.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 4th London Howitzer Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Army.)2 He held the office of Sheriff of London between 1929 and 1930.2 He was awarded the Grand Officier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.2 He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Romania.2 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)2 He was appointed Knight.2 He held the office of Lord Mayor of London between 1938 and 1939.2 He was created 1st Baronet Bowater, of Friston, Suffolk [U.K.] on 11 October 1939.2

Mabel Edith Hood was born on 26 May 1866.1 She was the daughter of Francis Wheler Hood, 4th Viscount Hood of Whitley and Edith Lydia Drummond Ward.2 She married Francis Denzil Edward Baring, 5th Baron Ashburton, son of Alexander Hugh Baring, 4th Baron Ashburton and Hon. Leonora Caroline Digby, on 25 July 1889 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 18 January 1904 at age 37.1
     After her marriage, Hon. Mabel Edith Hood was styled as Baroness Ashburton on 25 July 1889. From 25 July 1889, her married name became Baring.

George Barrington, son of Reverend George Barrington, 5th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Elizabeth Adair, on 15 January 1827.1 She died on 28 April 1875 at age 75.1
     Her married name became Barrington. She was appointed Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.)1
