Hon. Adeline Verena Ishbel Cocks1 
Hon. Adeline Verena Ishbel Cocks was born in 1886.1 She was the daughter of Herbert Haldane Somers Cocks and Blanche Margaret Standish Clogstoun.3 She married George Herbert Hyde Villiers, 6th Earl of Clarendon, son of Edward Hyde Villiers, 5th Earl of Clarendon and Lady Caroline Elizabeth Agar, on 5 August 1905 at Trinity Church, Sloane Street, Chelsea, London, EnglandG.3 She died on 6 February 1963.1
Her married name became Villiers. After her marriage, Hon. Adeline Verena Ishbel Cocks was styled as Countess of Clarendon on 2 October 1914. She was DGStJ, Honour Doctor of Law (LL.D.) Witwatersrand U in 1937.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)4 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)4 She was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South AfricaG.4
