     Sir John Roderick Hugh McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 5th Bt. was born on 4 November 1965.¹ He is the son of Sir Robert Lindley McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 3rd Bt. and Brigid Cecilia Laver.² He married Rachel Elizabeth Soane, daughter of Gerald Soane, on 6 May 2000.¹
     He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.¹ He was educated at University College London, London, England.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet McEwen, of Marchmont, co. Berwick [U.K., 1953] on 18 June 1983.¹ He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ He lived in 2003 at 32 Montgomery Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Isabella Gabriel Anne McEwen was born on 27 March 1968.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Robert Lindley McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 3rd Bt. and Brigid Cecilia Laver.²

     Roderick McEwen was born on 12 March 1932.² He was the son of Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 1st Bt. and Bridget Mary Lindley. He married Romana von Hofmannsthal, daughter of Raimund von Hofmannsthal and Ava Alice Muriel Astor, on 15 April 1958.² He died on 16 October 1982 at age 50.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.² He gained the rank of officer in the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders.²

     Romana von Hofmannsthal was born circa 1935.¹ She was the daughter of Raimund von Hofmannsthal and Ava Alice Muriel Astor.¹ She married Roderick McEwen, son of Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 1st Bt. and Bridget Mary Lindley, on 15 April 1958.² She died on 23 November 2014.³
     She was educated at The Brearly School, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ Her married name became McEwen. She lived in 2003 at 5 Netherton Grove, London, England^G.²

     Raimund von Hofmannsthal was the son of Hugo Laurenz August Hofmann von Hofmannsthal and Gertrud Schlesinger.^1,2 He married, firstly, Ava Alice Muriel Astor, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Jacob Astor IV and Ava Loel Willing, in 1933.³ He and Ava Alice Muriel Astor were divorced in 1939.³ He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Hester Mary Paget, daughter of Charles Henry Alexander Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey and Lady Victoria Marjorie Harriet Manners, on 7 June 1939 at Chelsea, London, England.^1,4 He died on 20 March 1974.¹

     Ava Loel Willing was born on 15 September 1868 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.² She was the daughter of Edward Shippen Willing and Alice Barton.^1,2 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. John Jacob Astor IV, son of William Backhouse Astor, Jr. and Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, on 17 February 1891.¹ She and Lt.-Col. John Jacob Astor IV were divorced in 1910.¹ She married, secondly, Thomas Lister, 4th Baron Ribblesdale, son of Thomas Lister, 3rd Baron Ribblesdale and Emma Mure, in 1919.¹ She died on 9 June 1958 at age 89 at New York, U.S.A.^1,2
     From 17 February 1891, her married name became Astor.¹ From 1919, her married name became Lister. After her marriage, Ava Loel Willing was styled as Baroness Ribblesdale in 1919.

     Edward Shippen Willing was born on 16 August 1822.¹ He married Alice Barton.¹ He died on 10 April 1906 at age 83.¹

     Christabel Mary McEwen was born on 2 June 1962.² She is the daughter of Roderick McEwen and Romana von Hofmannsthal.^2,1 She married, firstly, Edward Richard Lambton, 7th Earl of Durham, son of Lord Antony Claude Frederick Lambton and Belinda Bridget Blew-Jones, in 1983.¹ She and Edward Richard Lambton, 7th Earl of Durham were divorced.¹ She married, secondly, Jools Miles Holland on 30 August 2005 at St. James’s Church, Cooling, Kent, England^G.³
     From 1983, her married name became Lambton.¹ From 30 August 2005, her married name became Holland.³

     Natasha Durac Marr is the daughter of Peter H. D. Marr.² She married Alexander Francis Charles McEwen, son of Alexander Dundas McEwen and Cecilia Leontine Mary Gräfin von Weikersheim, in 1988.³
     From 1988, her married name became McEwen.³
