     Caroline Oliphant was born on 16 July 1766 at Findo-Gask, Perthshire, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Laurence Oliphant, 7th of Gask and Margaret Robertson.1 She married William Murray Nairne, 5th Lord Nairne, son of Lt.-Col. John Nairne and Brabazon Wheeler, on 2 June 1806.3 She died on 27 October 1845 at age 79.1
     From 2 June 1806, her married name became Nairne.4 She was authoress of romantic Jacobite ballads.3

     Laurence Oliphant, 7th of Gask was the son of Laurence Oliphant, 6th of Gask and Hon. Amelia Anne Sophia Murray.2 He married Margaret Robertson, daughter of Duncan Robertson, 18th of Struan, 4th of Drumachuine and 14th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh and Hon. May Marjorie Murray-Nairne, in 1755.1 He died on 1 January 1792.1
     He had three other daughters.1

Duncan Robertson, 18th of Struan, 4th of Drumachuine and 14th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh1

     Duncan Robertson, 18th of Struan, 4th of Drumachuine and 14th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh married Hon. May Marjorie Murray-Nairne, daughter of William Murray, 2nd Lord Nairne and Margaret Nairne, in March 1739.2 He died on 13 December 1782.2
     He held the position of 14th Chief of the Clan Donnachaidh from in 1749.2 In 1752 he never obtained the Barony of Struan which was resumed by the Crown as his name had been excluded from The Act of Indemnity for Jacobitism 1745.2

     Margaret Robertson was the daughter of Duncan Robertson, 18th of Struan, 4th of Drumachuine and 14th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh and Hon. May Marjorie Murray-Nairne.2 She married Laurence Oliphant, 7th of Gask, son of Laurence Oliphant, 6th of Gask and Hon. Amelia Anne Sophia Murray, in 1755.1 She died on 18 March 1774.1
     From 1755, her married name became Oliphant.
