     Patrick Oliphant was the son of Sir Laurence Oliphant, 2nd of Gask and Lilias Oliphant.² He married Margaret Murray, daughter of Reverend John Murray.¹ He died in 1694.¹
     He was disinherited by his father.¹ He lived at Williamston, Scotland^G.¹

     Reverend John Murray was the Minister at Trinity, Gask, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Murray is the daughter of Reverend John Murray.² She married Patrick Oliphant, son of Sir Laurence Oliphant, 2nd of Gask and Lilias Oliphant.¹
     Her married name became Oliphant.¹

     James Oliphant, 5th of Gask was born circa 1660 at Gask, Perthshire, Scotland.² He was the son of Patrick Oliphant and Margaret Murray.³ He married Janet Murray, daughter of Reverend Anthony Murray, on 16 July 1689.¹ He died on 10 April 1732 at Gask, Perthshire, Scotland.²
     He had five other sons, who died without issue.¹

     Reverend Anthony Murray lived at Woodend, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Janet Murray was the daughter of Reverend Anthony Murray.² She married James Oliphant, 5th of Gask, son of Patrick Oliphant and Margaret Murray, on 16 July 1689.¹ She died in 1729.¹
     From 16 July 1689, her married name became Oliphant.¹

     Laurence Oliphant, 6th of Gask was born in 1691.¹ He was the son of James Oliphant, 5th of Gask and Janet Murray.² He married Hon. Amelia Anne Sophia Murray, daughter of William Murray, 2nd Lord Nairne.¹ He died in 1767.¹
     He was a Jacobite during the Uprising in 1715.¹ He was a Jacobite during the Uprising in 1745.¹ He was created 1st Lord of Oliphant [Scotland] on 14 July 1760, Jacobite, by the titular King James III and VIII, with remainder (ultimately) to heirs male of the body of his father, and is therefore extinct.¹ He also had three daughters.¹

     James Oliphant was born in 1699.¹ He was the son of James Oliphant, 5th of Gask and Janet Murray.² He married Janet Austin in 1731.¹ He died in 1765.¹
     He was a merchant at Perth, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹ He had two other sons (who died without issue) and four daughters.³

     Janet Austin married James Oliphant, son of James Oliphant, 5th of Gask and Janet Murray, in 1731.¹
     Her married name became Newton.

     James Oliphant is the son of James Oliphant and Janet Austin.²
     He lived at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England^G.¹ He had three other sons (who died without issue.)¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹
