     James Blair Oliphant, 10th of Gask was the son of Laurence Oliphant, 8th of Gask and Christian Robertson of Ardblair.2 He married Henrietta Graham on 20 October 1840.1 He died in 1847, without issue.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perthshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire.1 He was succeeded in Ardblair by his sister, Rachel, and in Gask by his nephew, Thomas.1
