Robert Nairne, 1st Lord Nairne 
He was a practising advocate.1 In 1651 he was captured by the English under General Monck.1 Between 1651 and 1660 at Tower of London, London, England, he was imprisoned as royalist.1 He was appointed Knight in 1661.1 He held the office of Lord of Session in February 1660/61.1 He held the office of Lord Commissioner of Justiciary in 1671.1 He was created 1st Lord Nairne [Scotland] on 27 January 1680/81, with special remainder to heirs male of his body and in default of such to Lord George Murray, youngest son of teh Marquess of Atholl and future heirs begotten of him and Margaret Nairne (the 1st Lord Nairne’s only dau) and in default of such to any other of the Marquess of Atholl’s sons she might happen to marry and heirs begotten by them.1 On his death the Lordship of Nairne entered into a state of suspension by reason of the later Lord’s daughter not yet having married.1

John Murray, Master of Nairne1 
He was also known as John Nairne.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1715 in the Lord Charles Murray’s regiment on Jacobite side.1 He fought in the Battle of Preston on 14 November 1715, where he was captured along with his father.1 At Tower of London, London, England, He was imprisoned, found guilty of high treason, attainted and sentenced to death then reprieved.1 He gained the rank of Colonel of foot in 1719 in the a Jacobite regiment.1 He was created 1st Viscount Stanley [Scotland] on 24 June 1721, Jacobite.1 He was created 1st Earl of Nairne [Scotland] on 24 June 1721, Jacobite.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Nairne [S., 1681] on 3 February 1725/26, de jure.1 He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1745.1 He fought in the Battle of Prestonpans in 1745.1 He fought in the Battle of Falkirk in 1745.1 He was again attainted and escaped to Sweden.1
