     Lady Mary Douglas is the daughter of Robert Douglas, 8th Earl of Morton and Elizabeth Villiers.^1,2 She married Sir Donald Macdonald, 10th of Sleat, 3rd Bt., son of Sir James ‘Mor’ Macdonald, 9th of Sleat, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Mackenzie, on 24 July 1662 at Perth, Perthshire, Scotland^G.²
     From 24 July 1662, her married name became Macdonald.²

     Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Macdonald.¹ He married Isabella Trotter.¹ He died in 1747 at Paris, France^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] in February 1742.¹ He acquired the estate of Horsley, Yorkshire through his wife.¹ He fought in the Battle of Culloden on 16 April 1746, after which he fled to France.¹

     Isabella Trotter married Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Macdonald.¹
     She lived at Horsley, Yorkshire, England^G.² Her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 3rd Bt. and Isabella Trotter.¹ He married Elizabeth Sedgwick, daughter of Marmaduke Sedgwick, in 1764.¹ He died on 13 June 1770 at Horsley, Yorkshire, England^G, without male issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] in 1747.¹ In 1756 he sold the estate of Elsick to the Corporation of Aberdeen, as a result of the threat of forfeiture for possible complicity in the Jacobite rebellion.¹

     Elizabeth Sedgwick is the daughter of Marmaduke Sedgwick.¹ She married Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 4th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 3rd Bt. and Isabella Trotter, in 1764.¹
     From 1764, her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Marmaduke Sedgwick lived at Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Major Sir Edward Trotter Bannerman of Elsick, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 3rd Bt. and Isabella Trotter.¹ He died on 1 October 1796 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 13 June 1770.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1778 in the 36th Regiment of Foot.¹

     Sir Patrick Bannerman was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 1st Bt. and Margaret Scott.¹ He married Margaret Maitland, daughter of Sir Charles Maitland of Pitrichie, 3rd Bt. and Jean Forbes, on 18 April 1714 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.^2,3 He died in 1733.¹
     He was imprisoned by the Hanoverian authorities, but escaped to France.² He was appointed Knight by the Old Pretender.² He held the office of Jacobite Provost of Aberdeen in 1715.¹

     Alexander Bannerman was born circa 1715.¹ He was the son of Sir Patrick Bannerman and Margaret Maitland.¹ He married Margaret Burnett, daughter of Thomas Burnett and Margaret Turner, in 1737.² He died in 1782.¹
     He was a merchant at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Burnett was the daughter of Thomas Burnett and Margaret Turner.^1,2 She married Alexander Bannerman, son of Sir Patrick Bannerman and Margaret Maitland, in 1737.³
     From 1737, her married name became Bannerman.¹
