Henry Richard Vassall Fox, 3rd Baron Holland of Foxley was born on 21 November 1773 at Winterslow House, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Stephen Fox, 2nd Baron Holland of Foxley and Lady Mary FitzPatrick.1 He married Elizabeth Vassall, daughter of Richard Vassall and Mary Clark, on 6 July 1797.1 He died on 22 October 1840 at age 66.1
He was given the name of Henry Richard Fox at birth.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Holland of Foxley, co. Wilts [G.B., 1763] on 26 November 1774.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Holland, Baron of Holland [G.B., 1762] on 26 November 1774.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 On 18 June 1800 his name was legally changed to Henry Richard Vassall Fox by Royal Licence.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1806.1 He held the office of Lord Privy Seal between 1806 and 1807.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1830 and 1834.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1835 and 1840.1
