Lt.-Col. Geoffrey Babington was born on 3 November 1902.3 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir James Melville Babington and Eleanor Lawson.4,5 He married Lady Anne Katherine Egerton, daughter of John Francis Granville Scrope Egerton, 4th Earl of Ellesmere and Lady Violet Lambton, on 8 April 1931.3 He died on 8 December 1956 at age 54.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 16th/5th Lancers.3
