Hon. Sir George Augustus Anson was born on 22 December 1857.1 He was the son of Thomas George Anson, 2nd Earl of Lichfield and Lady Harriett Georgiana Louisa Hamilton.1 He married Blanche Mary Miller, daughter of George Miller, on 27 September 1884.1 He died on 25 May 1947 at age 89.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.1 He was Chief Constable of Staffordshire between 1888 and 1929.1 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1907.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery (TAR.)1 He was awarded the King’s Police Medal (K.P.M.) in 1918.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1925.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1937.1
