Sir John de Neville, Lord of Hornby1 
He gained the title of Lord of Hornby [Feudal]. He was a member of the household of Thomas, 1st Earl of Lancaster.1 He fought in the Battle of Boroughbridge on 16 March 1321/22, where he was taken prisoner. He saved his life and lands by a fine of £500, of which he paid £50.2 In 1324 he was called to the Great Council.1 He was appointed Knight in 1326.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire in 1326.1 In October 1330 he took a prominent part in the arrest of Roger de Mortimer, Eark of March, for which he received public reward.2 He fought in the campaign against the Scots in 1335.1
