     Helen Mary Brain was born on 8 August 1906.¹ She is the daughter of Sydney Brain and Gertrude Mary Atkins.¹ She married Leslie Henry Stevens, son of Thomas Richard Stevens, on 30 December 1933.¹
     From 30 December 1933, her married name became Stevens.¹

     Leslie Henry Stevens was the son of Thomas Richard Stevens.¹ He married Helen Mary Brain, daughter of Sydney Brain and Gertrude Mary Atkins, on 30 December 1933.¹ He died on 12 October 1962.¹

     Thomas Richard Stevens lived at Reading, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Edith Alice Smith was born circa 1864.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Smith.¹ She married Walter John Brain, son of John Alfred Brain and Ann Catherine Cottrell, on 1 September 1886. She died on 23 April 1947.¹
     From 1 September 1886, her married name became Brain.¹

     Dr. Hon. Elizabeth Ann Herbert was born on 17 November 1933.² She is the daughter of Edwin Savory Herbert, Baron Tangley and Gwendolen Hilda Judd.^3,4 She married Michael Cottrell Brain, 3rd Baron Brain, son of Walter Russell Brain, 1st Baron Brain and Stella Langdon-Down, on 10 December 1960.¹
     She graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ She graduated with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)¹ She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (B.M.)¹ From 10 December 1960, her married name became Brain.¹ After her marriage, Dr. Hon. Elizabeth Ann Herbert was styled as Baroness Brain on 15 August 2014.

     Edwin Savory Herbert, Baron Tangley was born on 29 June 1899 at Egham, Surrey, England^G.² He was the son of Henry William Herbert and Harriet Lizzie Elmes.² He married Gwendolen Hilda Judd, daughter of Thomas Langley Judd, on 29 December 1932.² He died on 5 June 1973 at age 73.¹
     He was educated at Queen’s College, Taunton, Somerset, England.³ He graduated from Law Society Law School, London, England, in 1919 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)³ He was a practising solicitor in 1920.³ He was member of the Council of Law Society between 1935 and 1963.³ He was Director-General of Postal and Telegraph Censorship Department between 1940 and 1945.³ He was appointed Knight Bachelor (K.B.) in 1943.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1956.^1,2 He was created Baron Tangley, of Blackheath in the County of Surrey [U.K. Life Peer] on 22 January 1964.¹
