He gained the title of Lord of Raby [Feudal].1 He gained the title of Lord of Brancepeth [Feudal].1 He fought in the campaigns against the Welsh in 1257.1 He held the office of Keeper of Bamburgh, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Norham and Werk Castles in 1258.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Northumberland between January 1258 and November 1258.1 He held the office of Justice of the forests beyond the Trent in 1261.1 He was commander of the King Henry III’s forces beyond the Trent in 1263.1 He was Captain of the defence of York on 12 June 1263.1,3 He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire on 13 June 1263.1,3 He held the office of Chief Justice of the forests beyond the Trent in 1265.1 He was Commissioner to hear the pleas of disinherited persons from 1267 to 1268.1 He was Chief assessor of the fifteenth (a tax) in Northumberland and Westmorland in 1275.1 He held the office of Keeper of Scarborough Castle in 1277.1

He fought in the Battle of Lewes in 1264, where he fought for King Henry III against Simon de Montfort.1 He was pleas of the forests beyond Trent in 1270.1 He was pleas of the forest in Cumberland, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire in 1270.1 He held the office of Governor of Scarborough Castle in 1270.1 He held the office of Chief Justice.1

Ranulf de Neville, 1st Lord Neville1 
He was also known as Randolph.1 On 11 January 1283/84 he had livery under writ.4 He was created 1st Lord Neville, of Raby [England] on 24 June 1295.1 In 1303 he was chief of the delegation summoned by the King to set forth the grievances of the people against the Bishop of Durham.4 In 1313 he was found guilty of incest with his daughter, Lady de Faucomberge.1 He held the office of Keeper of the Peace in 1325.4
