Sir James Agnew of Lochnaw, 4th Bt.1 
He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway between 1702 and 1724, 11th.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Agnew, of Lochnaw, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1629] in June 1702.1 In 1708 he sold his Irish estates to his agent, Patrick Agnew.1
