John William Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh of Terling Place was born on 12 November 1842 at Langford GroveG.1 He was the son of John James Strutt, 2nd Baron Rayleigh of Terling Place and Clara Elizabeth La Touche Vicars.3 He married Evelyn Georgiana Mary Balfour, daughter of James Maitland Balfour and Lady Blanche Mary Harriet Gascoyne-Cecil, on 19 July 1871.4 He died on 30 June 1919 at age 76 at Terling Place, Essex, EnglandG.1
