He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 16th Dragoons.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Affleck, of Dalham Hall, co. Suffolk [G.B., 1782] on 17 July 1808.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.1
