Sir Charles Mark Palmer, 1st Bt. 

Sir Charles Mark Palmer, 1st Bt. was born on 3 November 1822.2 He was the son of George Palmer and Maria Taylor.3 He married, firstly, Jane Robson, daughter of Ebenezer Robson, on 29 July 1846.2 He married, secondly, Augusta Mary Lambert, daughter of Alfred Lambert, on 4 July 1867.2 He married, thirdly, Gertrude Montgomery, daughter of James Montgomery, on 17 February 1877.2 He died on 4 June 1907 at age 84.2
He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the First Durham Royal Engineer Volunteers and Submarine Mining Volunteer Royal Engineers.2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)2 He was director of the Suez Canal Company.2 He and George Palmer were co-founder of Palmer’s Shipbuilding & Iron Company in 1852.4 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham and North Riding of Yorkshire.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Durham between 1874 and 1875.2 He held the office of Mayor of Jarrow in 1875.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Jarrow between 1885 and 1907.2 He was created 1st Baronet Palmer, of Grinkle Park, co. York and of Newcastle-under-Tyne [U.K.] on 31 August 1886.2 He held the office of Mayor of Jarrow between 1902 and 1903.2 He was appointed Commander, Order Saints Maurice and Lazarus at Italy.2

Sir Edmund Anthony Harley Lechmere, 3rd Bt. was born on 8 December 1826.2 He was the son of Sir Edmund Hungerford Lechmere, 2nd Bt. and Maria Clara Murray.3 He married Louisa Katherine Haigh, daughter of John Haigh, on 30 September 1858.2 He died on 18 December 1894 at age 68.2
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lechmere, of The Rhydd, co. Worcester [U.K., 1818] on 2 April 1856.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Worcestershire in 1862.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tewkesbury between 1866 and 1868.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Worcester between 1878 and 1885.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Bewdley between 1885 and 1892.2 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)2 He was awarded the Knight, Order of Medjidie 1st Class.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Worcester between 1892 and 1894.2
