     Mary Lechmere was born on 2 April 1791.² She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral William Lechmere and Elizabeth Dashwood-King.² She married Reverend James Saumarez, 2nd Baron de Saumarez, son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant, on 5 October 1814.¹ She died on 12 May 1849 at age 58.²
     From 5 October 1814, her married name became Saumarez. After her marriage, Mary Lechmere was styled as Baroness de Saumarez on 9 October 1836.

     Thomas Le Marchant Saumarez was baptised on 2 September 1799 at East Teingmouth, Devon, England.² He was the son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant.³ He was also reported to have been born on 30 October 1803.¹ He married Catherine Spencer Alicia Beresford Vassall, daughter of Lt.-Col. Spencer Thomas Vassall and Catherina Brandreth Backhouse Evans, on 1 October 1829.¹ He died on 4 July 1834 at age 34 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.^1,2

     Lt.-Col. Spencer Thomas Vassall was born on 7 April 1764 at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.² He married Catherina Brandreth Backhouse Evans on 30 June 1795.^2,3 He died on 7 February 1807 at age 42 at Montevideo, Uruguay.³

     Catherine Spencer Alicia Beresford Vassall was born on 3 February 1806.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Spencer Thomas Vassall and Catherina Brandreth Backhouse Evans.^3,2 She was baptised on 26 June 1810 at St. Paul’s, Bristol, England.⁴ She married, firstly, Thomas Le Marchant Saumarez, son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant, on 1 October 1829.¹ She married, secondly, Reverend Eardley Wilmot Marshall on 8 February 1841.¹ She died in 1877 at Kent, England.²
     From 1 October 1829, her married name became Saumarez. From 8 February 1841, her married name became Marshall.¹

     Barbara Latham is the daughter of William Latham.¹ She married Rt. Rev. Edward Synge, son of Richard Synge and Alice Rowley.¹
     Her married name became Synge.¹

     Amelia Saumarez was the daughter of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant.² She married William Young Herries on 3 September 1822.¹ She died on 7 December 1838.¹
     From 3 September 1822, her married name became Herries.

     William Young Herries married Amelia Saumarez, daughter of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant, on 3 September 1822.¹ He died on 12 February 1872.¹
     He lived at Spottes, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Mary Boyle was the daughter of Most Rev. Michael Boyle.¹ She married Very Rev. Samuel Synge, son of Rt. Rev. Edward Synge and Barbara Latham, in 1678.¹ She died circa April 1710.¹ She was buried on 1 May 1710.¹
     From 1678, her married name became Synge.¹

     Helena Synge is the daughter of Rt. Rev. Edward Synge and Barbara Latham.¹ She married Simon Purdon, son of George Purdon.¹
     Her married name became Purdon.¹

     James St. Vincent Saumarez, 4th Baron Saumarez was born on 17 July 1843.¹ He was the son of Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.² He married Jane Anne Vere-Broke, daughter of Captain Charles Acton Vere-Broke and Anna Maria Hamilton, on 10 October 1882.¹ He died on 25 April 1937 at age 93.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He was in the Diplomatic Service between 1867 and 1883.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1801] on 8 January 1881.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron de Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1831] on 8 January 1881.¹
