     Rt. Rev. William Boyd Carpenter was born on 26 March 1841 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.³ He was the son of Reverend Henry Carpenter and Hester Boyd.³ He married, firstly, Harriet Charlotte Peers, daughter of Reverend J. W. Peers, in 1864.^1,3 He married, secondly, Annie Maude Gardner, daughter of W. W. Gardner, in 1883.³ He died on 26 October 1918 at age 77.³

     Harriet Charlotte Peers is the daughter of Reverend J. W. Peers.² She married Rt. Rev. William Boyd Carpenter, son of Reverend Henry Carpenter and Hester Boyd, in 1864.^1,2
     She lived at Chiselhampton, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ Her married name became Carpenter.¹ From 1864, her married name became Boyd Carpenter.^1,2

     Henry John Boyd-Carpenter was the son of Rt. Rev. William Boyd Carpenter and Harriet Charlotte Peers.² He married Ethel Ley, daughter of Sir Francis Ley, 1st Bt. and Georgina Townsend Willis, on 16 December 1902.¹ He died on 1 June 1923.
     He was a practising barrister.¹

     Ethel Ley was born on 2 January 1873.² She was the daughter of Sir Francis Ley, 1st Bt. and Georgina Townsend Willis.^1,3 She married Henry John Boyd-Carpenter, son of Rt. Rev. William Boyd Carpenter and Harriet Charlotte Peers, on 16 December 1902.² She died on 29 September 1953 at age 80.²
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)² From 16 December 1902, her married name became Boyd-Carpenter.

     Sir Francis Ley, 1st Bt. was born on 3 January 1846.² He was the son of George Phillips Ley and Sarah Potts.³ He married, firstly, Georgina Townsend Willis, daughter of George Willis, on 24 August 1870.² He married, secondly, Alison Catherine Jobson, daughter of John Jobson, on 24 April 1888.² He died on 17 January 1916 at age 70.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1905.² He was created 1st Baronet Ley, of Epperstone Manor, Epperstone, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 27 December 1905.² He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)² He was founder and director of Ley’s Works at Derby, Derbyshire, England.²

     Kathleen Mary Faun was the daughter of Herbert William Faun.¹ She married Bernard Richard Braine, Baron Braine of Wheatley, son of Arthur Ernest Braine, in 1935.¹ She died in 1982.¹
     From 1935, her married name became Braine.¹
