Robert Maxwell, 1st Earl of Nithsdale1 
Between 1607 and 1613 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, he was intermittently imprisoned for complicity with his brother, John.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Maxwell [S., 1445] on 21 May 1613.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1619.1 He was created 1st Earl of Nithsdale [Scotland] on 29 August 1620, with special remainder to all heirs males whatsoever, and precedence of 1581.1 He was created 1st Lord Maxwell, Eskdale and Carleill [Scotland] on 29 August 1620, with special remainder to all heirs males whatsoever, and precedence of 1581.1 In 1621 he was one of six members of an inner circle of the Privy Council advising the King.1 A Royalist during the Civil War.1

William Maxwell, 5th Earl of Nithsdale1 
He succeeded as the 5th Lord Maxwell, Eskdale and Carleill [S., 1620] before 23 March 1683.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Nithsdale [S., 1620] before 23 March 1683.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] before 23 March 1682/83.1 In 1712 he made his estates over to his son with a life rent to himself.1 He fought in the Battle of Preston on 14 November 1715, where he was captured.1 On 19 January 1715/16 he was sentenced to death for high treason.1
On 23 February 1715/16 he escaped from the Tower of London the day before the date fixed for his execution by donning female costume.1 He was attainted and his titles forfeit.1

Henry Wyndham, 2nd Baron Leconfield of Leconfield1

Henry Wyndham, 2nd Baron Leconfield of Leconfield was born on 31 July 1830.1 He was the son of George Wyndham, 1st Baron Leconfield of Leconfield and Mary Fanny Blunt.3 He was baptised on 31 October 1830 at Singleton, Sussex, England.4 He married Lady Constance Evelyn Primrose, daughter of Archibald John Primrose, Lord Dalmeny and Lady Catherine Lucy Wilhelmina Stanhope, on 15 July 1867.1 He died on 6 January 1901 at age 70.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Life Guards.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for West Sussex between 1854 and 1869.1 He held the office of Alderman of West Sussex.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sussex.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Leconfield of Leconfield, in the East Riding of co. York [U.K., 1859] on 18 March 1869.1

Lady Constance Evelyn Primrose1 
Her married name became Wyndham. After her marriage, Lady Constance Evelyn Primrose was styled as Baroness Leconfield of Leconfield on 18 March 1869. On 30 May 1886 she was granted the rank of an earl’s daughter.2
