William Douglas, 1st Duke of Queensberry was born in 1637.1 He was the son of James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry and Lady Margaret Stewart.3 He married Lady Isabel Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 1st Marquess of Douglas and Lady Mary Gordon, in 1657.1 He died on 28 March 1695.1
He was Commissioner of Excise in 1661.4 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1663.4 He held the office of Sheriff and Coroner of Dumfries-shire in 1663.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) James Drummond, 4th Earl of Perth was born circa 1649.3 He was the son of James Drummond, 3rd Earl of Perth and Lady Anne Gordon.4 He married, firstly, Lady Jean Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 1st Marquess of Douglas and Lady Mary Gordon, on 18 January 1670.1 He married by contract, secondly, Lilias Drummond, daughter of Sir James Drummond, 2nd of Machany and Anne Hay, circa 5 October 1676.3 He married, thirdly, Lady Mary Gordon, daughter of Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly and Mary Grant, circa January 1685/86.5 He died on 11 May 1716 at Saint Germain-en-Laye, France.5

Lady Lucy Douglas was born between 1644 and 1654.1 She was the daughter of William Douglas, 1st Marquess of Douglas and Lady Mary Gordon.1 She married Robert Maxwell, 4th Earl of Nithsdale, son of John Maxwell, 3rd Earl of Nithsdale and Elizabeth Gordon, on 23 May 1668 at South Leith, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3 She died on 8 January 1713.1
From 23 May 1668, her married name became Maxwell.

Sir James Douglas, 1st Lord Mordington1 
He held the office of Provost of Abernethy before 1608.1 He was appointed Knight between 1625 and 1627.1 He was created 1st Lord Mordington [Scotland] on 14 November 1641.3 He lived at Mordington, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester on 3 September 1651, where he was captured by the Parliamentarians.1
