Sir Carnaby Haggerston, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1700.2 He was the son of William Haggerston and Anne Constable.3 He married Elizabeth Midleton, daughter of Peter Middleton, on 20 November 1721.2 He died circa 17 July 1756.2 He was buried on 20 July 1756.2
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Haggerston, of Haggerston, co. Northampton [E., 1642].2

Marmaduke Francis Constable-Maxwell, 11th Lord Herries of Terregles was born on 4 October 1837.3 He was the son of William Constable-Maxwell, 10th Lord Herries of Terregles and Marcia Mary Vavasour.4 He married Hon. Angela Mary Charlotte Fitzalan-Howard, daughter of Edward George Fitzalan-Howard, 1st Baron Howard of Glossop and Augusta Talbot, on 14 April 1875.3 He died on 5 October 1908 at age 71.1
He was educated at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, England.3 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] on 12 November 1876.4 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dumfries-shire.3 He was created 1st Baron Herries, of Caerlaverock Castle, co. Dumfries and of Everingham, in the East Riding, co. York [U.K.] on 10 November 1884.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, EnglandG.3 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the East Riding Yorkshire Imperial Yeomanry.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of of the East Riding, Yorskhire.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of of Kirkcudbrightshire.3 On his death, his UK Barony became extinct.1
