Hon. Eleanor Agnes Eden was born on 9 July 1777.3 She was the daughter of William Eden, 1st Baron Auckland and Eleanor Elliot.1 She married Robert Hobart, 4th Earl of Buckinghamshire, son of George Hobart, 3rd Earl of Buckinghamshire and Albinia Bertie, on 1 June 1799 at Lambeth Palace, Lambeth, London, EnglandG.3 She died on 15 October 1851 at age 74 at Eastcombe, EnglandG, without issue.3 Her will was proven (by probate) in November 1851.3
From 1 June 1799, her married name became Hobart. After her marriage, Hon. Eleanor Agnes Eden was styled as Countess of Buckinghamshire on 1 June 1799.

William Eden, 1st Baron Auckland was born in 1744.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Eden, 3rd Bt. and Mary Davison.1 He married Eleanor Elliot, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Gilbert Elliot of Minto, 3rd Bt. and Agnes Dalrymple-Murray-Kynynmound, on 26 September 1776.3 He died on 28 May 1814 at Eden Farm, Beckenham, Kent, EnglandG, suddenly, from spasms.3 His will was proven (by probate) on 21 July 1814.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1764 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1768 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Mid Temple in 1769 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was the Auditor between 1771 and 1814 at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for the North between 1772 and 1778.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Woodstock between 1774 and 1784.1 He held the office of a Lord of Trade between 1776 and 1782.1 In 1778 he accompanied the Earl of Carlisle, as a Commissioner, to North America.1 He held the office of Chief Secretary for Ireland between 1780 and 1782.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)
