John Patrick Edward Chandos Henniker-Major, 8th Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney was born on 19 February 1916.1 He was the son of John Ernest de Grey Henniker-Major, 7th Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney and Molly Burnet.3 He married, firstly, Margaret Osla Benning, daughter of James William Benning, on 18 December 1946.3 He married, secondly, Julia Marshall Poland Mason, daughter of George M. Mason, on 8 May 1976.3 He died on 29 April 2004 at age 88.3
