     Joan Betty Ewart usually went by her middle name of Betty.³ After her marriage, Joan Betty Ewart was styled as Baroness Russell of Liverpool on 5 July 1933. From 5 July 1933, her married name became Russell.³ From 7 June 1948, her married name became Jessel.¹

     John Frederick Lambton Bruce was born on 20 October 1912.¹ He was the son of Lewis Bruce and Anne Margaret Macdonald Ranken.^2,1 He married Marjory Katherine Fernie Bruce, daughter of Charles Bruce and Joan Woodiwiss, on 11 January 1941.¹ He died on 20 September 2002 at age 89.¹

     Charles Bruce was born on 23 February 1883.² He was the son of Hon. Frederick John Bruce and Katherine Fernie.² He married Joan Woodiwiss, daughter of Isaac Newton Woodiwiss, on 30 August 1918.² He died on 18 September 1958 at age 75.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Scottish Horse, Territorial Army Reserve.² He lived at Liskeard, Cornwall, England^G.¹

     Marjory Katherine Fernie Bruce was born on 4 August 1919.² She was the daughter of Charles Bruce and Joan Woodiwiss.² She married John Frederick Lambton Bruce, son of Lewis Bruce and Anne Margaret Macdonald Ranken, on 11 January 1941.¹ She died on 15 May 1994 at age 74.¹

     Penelope Margaret Bruce was born on 26 September 1943.¹ She is the daughter of John Frederick Lambton Bruce and Marjory Katherine Fernie Bruce.² She married Richard Barry Bigger in 1974.¹
     From 1974, her married name became Bigger.

     Richard Barry Bigger married Penelope Margaret Bruce, daughter of John Frederick Lambton Bruce and Marjory Katherine Fernie Bruce, in 1974.¹
