(Conservative) for Birmingham, Edgbaston between 1966 and 1997.⁴ She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1985.² She wrote the book About the House, published 1996.³ She was created Baroness Knight of Collingtree, of Collingtree in the County of Northamptonshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 23 September 1997.¹

     Philip Douglas Knights, Baron Knights was born on 3 October 1920.² He was the son of Thomas James Knights and Ethel Ginn.² He married Jean Burman, daughter of James Henry Burman, in 1945.² He died on 11 December 2014 at age 94.³

     Irvine Alan Stewart Laidlaw, Baron Laidlaw was created Baron Laidlaw, of Rothiemay in Banffshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 14 June 2004.¹

     Hector Laing, Baron Laing of Dunphail was born on 12 May 1923.² He was the son of Hector Stanley Laing and Margaret Norris Grant.³ He married Marian Clare Laurie, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John Emilius Laurie of Maxwelton, 6th Bt. and Evelyn Clare Gardner Richardson-Gardner, on 1 April 1950.⁴ He died on 21 June 2010 at age 87.⁵

     Norman Stewart Hughson Lamont, Baron Lamont of Lerwick was born on 8 May 1942.³ He is the son of Daniel Lambert and Helen Irene Hughson.³ He married Alice Rosemary White, daughter of Lt.-Col. Peter White, on 15 September 1971.³ He and Alice Rosemary White were divorced in 2000.³

     Peter Stewart Lane, Baron Lane of Horsell was born on 29 January 1925.² He was the son of Leonard George Lane.² He married Doris Florence Botsford, daughter of Robert Simpson Botsford, in 1951.² He died on 9 January 2009 at age 83.³

     Felicity Lane-Fox, Baroness Lane-Fox was born on 22 June 1918 at Tadcaster, Yorkshire, England.² She was the daughter of Captain Edward Lane-Fox and Enid Maud Bethell.² She died on 17 April 1988 at age 69.¹
     In 1930 she was paralysed by an attack of poliomyelitis.² She was a member of the executive of the National Union of Conservative and Unionist Associations in 1963.² She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1976.¹ She was created Baroness Lane-Fox, of Bramham in the County of West Yorkshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 19 May 1981.¹
