Barbara Montgomery was born circa 1757.3 She was the daughter of Sir William Montgomery of Magbiehill, 1st Bt. and Hannah Tomkyns.1 She married Rt. Hon. John de la Poer Beresford, son of Marcus Beresford, 1st Earl of Tyrone and Catherine Power, Baroness la Poer, on 4 June 1774.1 She died on 2 December 1788.1 She was also reported to have died on the road from Bath in May 1795.3
Her married name became Beresford.

Sir Ralph Assheton, 3rd Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Assheton, of Middleton, co. Lancaster [E., 1660] on 3 May 1716.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Lancashire from 1738 to 1739.2
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.3
