Elizabeth Baring was born on 21 July 1744 at Larkbeare, Devon, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of John Baring and Elizabeth Vowler.1 She married John Dunning, 1st Baron Ashburton, son of John Dunning and Agnes Judsham, on 31 March 1780 at St. Leonard’s, Exeter, Devon, EnglandG.1 She died on 23 February 1809 at age 64 at Cardigan Place, London, EnglandG.1
From 31 March 1780, her married name became Dunning.1 After her marriage, Elizabeth Baring was styled as Baroness Ashburton on 8 April 1782.

Richard Barré Dunning, 2nd Baron Ashburton1 
He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Ashburton, of Ashburton, Devon [G.B., 1782] on 18 August 1783.1 He wrote the book Genealogical Memoirs of the Royal House of France, published before 1823, published in 1825 (ASIN: B00086WFHM.)1
On his death, the Barony of Ashburton became extinct.1
