     Sir William Balfour of Pitcullo was born in 1578 at Cupar, Fife, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Balfour and Christian Cant.2 He married, secondly, Isabella van Weede.3 He married Helen Napier circa 1604.2 He died in July 1660 at London, England.2 He was buried at Westminster Abbey, Westmisnter, London, England.2
     He held the office of Lieutenant of the Tower of London.1 He lived at Pitcullo, Fife, ScotlandG.1

James Stuart, Lord Doune1

     James Stuart, Lord Doune was born before 1660. He was the son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Earl of Moray and Emilia Balfour.2 He married Catherine Tollemache, daughter of Sir Lionel Tollemache, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Murray, Countess of Dysart, on 2 December 1677.3 He died in 1685.3
     He was styled as Lord Doune.1

     Hon. Elizabeth Stuart was born after 1677. She was the daughter of James Stuart, Lord Doune and Catherine Tollemache.1 She married Brig.-Gen. Alexander Grant, 2nd of Grant, son of Ludovic Grant, 8th of Freuchie and 1st of Grant and Janet Brodie, on 3 December 1698.2 She died on 22 April 1708.2
     From 3 December 1698, her married name became Grant.3

     Charles Stuart, 6th Earl of Moray was born circa 1660.1 He was the son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Earl of Moray and Emilia Balfour.1 He married Lady Anne Campbell, daughter of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll and Lady Mary Stuart, after 1695.2 He died on 7 October 1735, without issue.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Stuart [Nova Scotia] on 23 September 1681.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Strathdearn [S., 1563] on 1 November 1700.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Moray [S., 1562] on 1 November 1700.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Abernethy [S., 1562] on 1 November 1700.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Doune [S., 1581] on 1 November 1700.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Saint Colme [S., 1620] on 1 November 1700.1 From 1707 to 1708 he was imprisoned as a suspected Jacobite.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in 1731.1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.1

     Lady Anne Campbell was the daughter of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll and Lady Mary Stuart.1 She married, firstly, Richard Maitland, 4th Earl of Lauderdale, son of Charles Maitland, 3rd Earl of Lauderdale and Elizabeth Lauder, on 1 July 1678.1 She married, secondly, Charles Stuart, 6th Earl of Moray, son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Earl of Moray and Emilia Balfour, after 1695.1 She died on 18 September 1734.1
     Her married name became Maitland. After her marriage, Lady Anne Campbell was styled as Countess of Lauderdale on 9 June 1691. From after 1695, her married name became Stuart.1 After her marriage, Lady Anne Campbell was styled as Countess of Moray on 1 November 1700.
