     Margaret Balfour was the daughter of Michael Balfour, 4th of Burleigh and Christina Bethune.^1,2 She married, firstly, Sir James Balfour.² She married, secondly, Sir Robert Melville.³ She died in 1584.²
     Her married name became Melville.³
     She had four younger sons and two other daughters by her first husband.²

     Michael Balfour, 4th of Burleigh was the son of David Balfour of Burleigh and Agnes Forrester.³ He married Christina Bethune, daughter of Sir John Bethune, 2nd of Creich and Janet Hay, before 27 April 1545.^3,2 He died on 29 November 1577.³
     He lived at Burleigh, Kinross-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Lundie was the daughter of William Lundie of that Ilk and Christian Ruthven.^2,3 A contract for the marriage of Margaret Lundie and Michael Balfour, 1st Lord Balfour of Burleigh was signed on 12 July 1591.^1,4 She died in 1625 at Kilmany, Fife, Scotland^G.^2,5
     From 12 July 1591, her married name became Balfour.¹ After her marriage, Margaret Lundie was styled as Baroness Balfour of Burleigh on 16 July 1607.

     William Lundie of that Ilk was the son of Walter Lundie of that Ilk and Elizabeth Lindsay.³ He married Christian Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 2nd Lord Ruthven and Janet Halyburton, Lady Dirletoun, circa 1550.³ He died on 6 May 1600.³

     Margaret Balfour, Baroness Balfour of Burleigh was the daughter of Michael Balfour, 1st Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Margaret Lundie.¹ A contract for the marriage of Margaret Balfour, Baroness Balfour of Burleigh and Robert Balfour, Lord Balfour of Burleigh was signed on 30 August 1606.¹ She died in June 1639 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She was buried at Orwell, Kinross-shire, Scotland^G.¹
     From 30 August 1606, her married name became Balfour. She succeeded as the 2nd Baroness Balfour of Burleigh, co. Kinross [S., 1607] on 15 March 1619, de jure.¹

     Lt.-Col. Hon. John Balfour was the son of John Balfour, 3rd Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Isabel Balfour.¹ A contract for the marriage of Lt.-Col. Hon. John Balfour and Barbara Ross was signed on 7 October 1684.¹ He died on 8 September 1725.¹
     He fought in the Uprising of 1715 in 1715.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Jacobite forces.¹ In 1716 he was attainted.¹ He lived at Fernie, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     John Balfour, 3rd Lord Balfour of Burleigh was the son of Robert Balfour, Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Margaret Balfour, Baroness Balfour of Burleigh.¹ He married Isabel Balfour, daughter of Sir William Balfour of Pitcullo and Isabella van Weede, in 1649 at London, England^G.¹ He died between 10 December 1696 and February 1697.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Balfour of Burleigh, co. Kinross [S., 1607] in June 1639.¹

     Count Sergei Belevsky-Zhukovsky was born on 17 February 1903 at Moscow, Russia^G.¹ He was the son of Count Aleksei Alekseivich Belevsky-Zhukovsky and Princess Mariya Petrovna Troubetzkoya.¹ He married Nina Botkina in January 1926 at Paris, France^G.¹ He died on 27 November 1956 at age 53 at Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Isabel Balfour was the daughter of Sir William Balfour of Pitcullo and Isabella van Weede.^1,2 She married John Balfour, 3rd Lord Balfour of Burleigh, son of Robert Balfour, Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Margaret Balfour, Baroness Balfour of Burleigh, in 1649 at London, England^G.¹

     Hon. Anne Balfour is the daughter of James Balfour, 1st Lord Balfour, Baron of Glenawley and Grisold Balfour.¹ She married, firstly, Sir John Wemyss before 1638.¹ She married, secondly, Archibald Hamilton, son of Malcolm Hamilton, before 1639.¹
     From before 1638, her married name became Wemyss.¹ From before 1639, her married name became Hamilton.¹
