Brig.-Gen. Alexander Grant, 2nd of Grant1 
Brig.-Gen. Alexander Grant, 2nd of Grant was born in 1672.1 He was the son of Ludovic Grant, 8th of Freuchie and 1st of Grant and Janet Brodie.1,3 He married, firstly, Hon. Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of James Stuart, Lord Doune and Catherine Tollemache, on 3 December 1698.4 He married, secondly, Anne Smith, daughter of Rt. Hon. John Smith and Anne Strickland, on 7 April 1709.1 He died on 14 August 1719, without surviving issue.4
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness-shire between 1702 and 1707.4 He was married 2nd Anne (Maid of Honour to QUEEN ANNE on 7 April 1709.4 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness-shire and Banffshire.4
