     Sir Archibald Stirling, 5th of Keir and 2nd of Cawder was the son of Sir James Stirling, 4th of Keir and 1st of Cawder and Jean Chisholm.2 He married, firstly, Mary Drummond, daughter of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven, in 1579.1 He married, secondly, Grizell Ross, daughter of James Ross, Lord Ross, in 1589.3 He died in 1630.3
     He held the office of Admiral Depute of the Western Seas.3 He was appointed Knight before 1592.3
