     Sir Alexander Maxwell of Monreith, 2nd Bt. was born at Monreith, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.² He was the son of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hay.³ He married Lady Jean Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Margaret Cochrane, on 29 December 1711.¹ He died on 23 May 1730.⁴
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Maxwell, of Monreith, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1681] in April 1709.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wigtown Bughs in 1715.⁴

     Lady Mary Montgomerie was baptised on 29 November 1704 at Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.^2,3 She was the daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Ann Gordon.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 3rd Bt., son of Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Baird, in May 1731.¹ She died in June 1777 at age 72.⁴
     Her married name became Cunyngham.

     Lt.-Gen. Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 3rd Bt. was born on 1 August 1700 at Milncraig, Ayrshire, Scotland.^1,2 He was the son of Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Baird.³ He married Lady Mary Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Ann Gordon, in May 1731.³ He died on 10 October 1767 at age 67 at Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland.^1,2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Cunynghame, of Milncraig, co. Ayr [N.S., 1702] on 1 February 1747.¹ He was Colonel of the 57th Regiment in 1757.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Montgomerie was born on 4 July 1710.² She was the daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Susanna Kennedy.¹ She married Sir John Cuninghame, 10th of Caprington, 3rd Bt., son of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick, in 1749.¹ She died on 19 February 1800 at age 89.¹
     Her married name became Cunningham.

     Sir John Cuninghame, 10th of Caprington, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1696.² He was the son of Sir William Cuninghame, 9th of Caprington, 2nd Bt. and Janet Dick.² He married Lady Elizabeth Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Susanna Kennedy, in 1749.¹ He died on 30 November 1777.²
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Cuninghame, of Caprington, co. Ayr [N.S., 1669] in 1740.³

     Lady Helen Montgomerie was born on 16 January 1712.² She was the daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Susanna Kennedy.¹ She married Hon. Francis Stuart, son of Francis Stuart, 7th Earl of Moray and Jean Elphinstone, on 4 January 1745.¹ She died on 14 January 1747 at age 34 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     She was also known as Eleanora.² Her married name became Stuart.

     Hon. Francis Stuart was the son of Francis Stuart, 7th Earl of Moray and Jean Elphinstone.^1,2 He married, secondly, unknown wife (?)² He married, firstly, Lady Helen Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Susanna Kennedy, on 4 January 1745.¹
     He lived at Pittendriech, Fife, Scotland.²

     Francis Stuart, 7th Earl of Moray was born on 4 September 1673.¹ He was the son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Earl of Moray and Emilia Balfour.¹ He was also reported to have been born on 4 September 1674.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Murray, daughter of Sir John Murray of Drumcairn, in September 1698.¹ He married, secondly, Jean Elphinstone, daughter of John Elphinstone, 4th Lord Balmerinoch and Lady Christiana Montgomerie, in July 1700.² He died on 11 December 1739 at age 66.¹
     In 1715 he was a suspected Jacobite.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Lord Abernethy [S., 1562] on 7 October 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Moray [S., 1562] on 7 October 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Lord Strathdearn [S., 1563] on 7 October 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Lord Saint Colme [S., 1620] on 7 October 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Lord Doune [S., 1581] on 7 October 1735.¹

     Lady Margaret Montgomerie was the daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglinton and Susanna Kennedy.^2,1 She married Sir Alexander Macdonald, 14th of Sleat, 7th Bt., son of Sir James Macdonald, 13th of Sleat, 6th Bt. and Janet Macleod, on 24 April 1739 at St. Paul’s Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 30 March 1799 at Welbeck Street, Marylebone, London, England^G.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in April 1799.¹
     From 24 April 1739, her married name became Macdonald.¹

     John Stewart and Finvola Macdonald obtained a marriage license on 14 January 1342/43.¹
