     Hastings McDouall was born on 20 September 1823.¹ He was the son of Reverend William McDouall and Euphemia Gaudin.¹ He married Susan Dalrymple-Hay, daughter of Sir James Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 2nd Bt. and Anne Hathorn, on 18 August 1853 at Old Luce, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.² He died on 19 June 1869 at age 45.¹

     Susan Dalrymple-Hay was born on 10 November 1827.² She was the daughter of Sir James Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 2nd Bt. and Anne Hathorn.³ She married Hastings McDouall, son of Reverend William McDouall and Euphemia Gaudin, on 18 August 1853 at Old Luce, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.² She died on 8 May 1911 at age 83 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England^G.²
     From 18 August 1853, her married name became McDouall.

     Rawdon McDouall was born on 20 September 1823.¹ He was the son of Reverend William McDouall and Euphemia Gaudin.¹ He married Charlotte Shawford King, daughter of Richard King, on 20 July 1847.¹ He died in 1884.¹

     Charlotte Shawford King was the daughter of Richard King.¹ She married Rawdon McDouall, son of Reverend William McDouall and Euphemia Gaudin, on 20 July 1847.¹ She died in 1916.¹
     Her married name became McDouall.

     Sir Dugald Stuart of Ardmaleish, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir James Stuart of Ardmaleish, 1st Bt. and Grizel Campbell.² He married Elizabeth Ruthven, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John Ruthven and Lady Barbara Leslie, in 1658.¹ He died in 1672.^3,4
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Stuart, of Bute [N.S., 1627] in 1662.¹
     He also had some daughters.¹

     Elizabeth Ruthven was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John Ruthven and Lady Barbara Leslie.¹ She married Sir Dugald Stuart of Ardmaleish, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Stuart of Ardmaleish, 1st Bt. and Grizel Campbell, in 1658.¹
     Her married name became Stuart.

     Sir William Stuart was born on 31 October 1798.¹ He was the son of Most Rev. Hon. William Stuart and Sophia Margaret Juliana Penn.¹ He married, firstly, Henrietta Maria Sarah Pole, daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Morice Pole, 1st and last Bt. and Henrietta Goddard, on 8 August 1821.¹ He married, secondly, Georgina Adelaide Forestier Walker, daughter of General Frederick Nathaniel Walker and Annabelle Cane, on 31 August 1854.² He died on 7 July 1874 at age 75.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Tempsford Hall, Bedfordshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Aldenham Abbey, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Juliana Stuart was the daughter of Most Rev. Hon. William Stuart and Sophia Margaret Juliana Penn.¹ She married Thomas Knox, 2nd Earl of Ranfurly, son of Thomas Knox, 1st Earl of Ranfurly and Hon. Diana Jane Pery, on 28 February 1815.¹ She died on 11 July 1866.¹
     Her married name became Knox. After her marriage, Mary Juliana Stuart was styled as Countess of Ranfurly on 26 April 1840.

     Charles Theophilus Metcalfe, 1st Baron Metcalfe was born on 30 January 1785.³ He was the son of Sir Thomas Metcalfe, 1st Bt. and Susannah Selina Sophia Debonnaire.¹ He died on 5 September 1846 at age 61, without issue.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.⁴ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Metcalfe, of Chilton, co. Berks [U.K., 1802] on 15 August 1822.⁵ He held the office of Member of the Supreme Council [BEngal].⁵ He held the office of Governor of Agra.⁵ He held the office of Governor of Jamaica between 1839 and 1842.³ He was Chancellor of King’s College, Toronto between 1843 and 1845.⁴ He held the office of Governor-General of Canada between 1843 and 1845.³ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)⁵ He held the office of Resident of Hyderabad.⁵ He was created 1st Baron Metcalfe [U.K.] in January 1845.⁵ On his death his barony became extinct.⁵
