Lt.-Gen. Lord George Murray1 
He gained the rank of Ensign in 1712 in the Royal Scots.2 In 1715 he was a Jacobite.2 He escaped overseas.2 In 1719 he returned to Sotland with his brother, William, Marquess of Tullibardine.2 He fought in the Battle of Glenshiel on 10 June 1719, where he was allegedly wounded.2 In 1724 he again returned to Scotland and was pardoned.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1745 in the forces of ‘Charles Edward.1‘ In 1746 he was attainted after Culloden, but again escaped to Rome.1 On 7 February 1764 his attainder was held by the House of Lords not to have affected his son’s rights.2

Lady Charlotte Murray, Baroness Strange1 
On 8 January 1764 she inherited the Sovereignty of the Isle of Man from her father.1 After her marriage, Lady Charlotte Murray, Baroness Strange was styled as Duchess of Atholl on 8 January 1764. She succeeded as the 8th Baroness Strange [E., 1628] on 8 January 1764, suo jure.1 In 1765 she sold the Sovereignty of the Isle of Man to the Government for £70,000 and an annuity of £2,000 per year.1
