He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Graham [S., 1445] in 1472.1 He was created 1st Earl of Montrose [Scotland] between 7 July 1503 and 20 November 1503.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1

Dudley Oliver Trench, 5th Baron Ashtown1 

Dudley Oliver Trench, 5th Baron Ashtown was born on 11 July 1901.1 He was the son of Frederic Oliver Trench, 3rd Baron Ashtown and Violet Grace Cosby.1 He married, firstly, Ellen Nancy Garton, daughter of William Garton, on 1 December 1932.1 He married, secondly, Sheelah Adrienne Sarah Green-Wilkinson, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Lewis Frederick Green-Wilkinson and Sarah May Trench, on 28 November 1955.1 He married, thirdly, Frances Natalie Barker-Hahlo, daughter of Major Hermon Barker-Hahlo and Josephine Christine Crofton, on 27 January 1966.1 He died on 19 August 1979 at age 78, without male issue.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.3 He was Assistant Instructor of the Netheravon Wing Small Arms School between 1929 and 1931.3 He was Adjutant of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps in 1932.3 He was Adjutant of the 11th London Regiment (Territorial Army) between 1935 and 1936.3 He was Adjutant of the 16th London Regiment between 1936 and 1938.3 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He was Assistant Chief Constable of the War Department Constabulary between 1947 and 1964.3 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1961.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Ashtown, of Moate, co. Galway [I., 1800] on 3 November 1966.1
