     David Boswell, 5th of Auchinleck was the son of James Boswell, 4th of Auchinleck and Marion Crawford.^2,3 He married Isabel Wallace, daughter of Sir John Wallace of Cairnhill. He died in 1661, without male issue.²

     Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Bt. was born on 14 August 1722.¹ He was the son of Sir Hugh Acland, 2nd/6th Bt. and Cicely Wroth.¹ He married Elizabeth Dyke, daughter of Thomas Dyke, on 7 January 1744/45 at Kingston, Somerset, England^G.^1,2 He died on 24 February 1785 at age 62.^1,2 He was buried on 8 March 1785 at Broadclyst, Devon, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) on 6 April 1785.²
     He was given the name of Thomas Acland at birth. He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1678] on 29 July 1728.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1644] on 29 July 1728.³ He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 3 May 1740.² On 7 January 1745 his name was legally changed to Thomas Dyke Acland.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon from 1746 to 1747.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Somerset between December 1750 and January 1752.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Somerset from 1767 to 1768.¹ His last will was dated 6 July 1784.

     Elizabeth Dyke was the daughter of Thomas Dyke.¹ She married Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Bt., son of Sir Hugh Acland, 2nd/6th Bt. and Cicely Wroth, on 7 January 1744/45 at Kingston, Somerset, England^G.^1,2 She died circa 10 July 1753. She was buried on 13 July 1753 at Broadclyst, Devon, England^G.^1,2 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 2 November 1753.²
     Her married name became Acland.

He was the son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Bt. and Elizabeth Dyke.⁴ He married Henrietta Anne Hoare, daughter of Sir Richard Hoare, 1st Bt. and Frances Anne Acland, on 4 July 1785 at Barnes, Surrey, England^G.^1,3 He died on 17 May 1794 at age 42.¹ He was buried on 29 May 1794 at Broadclyst, Devon, England^G.³ His will was proven (by probate) on 26 June 1794.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.³ He matriculated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 5 May 1770.³ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1644] on 24 February 1785.⁵ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1678] on 24 February 1785.¹ His last will was dated 3 March 1793.

     Henrietta Anne Hoare was born in 1765.² She was the daughter of Sir Richard Hoare, 1st Bt. and Frances Anne Acland.^3,4 She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 5th/9th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Bt. and Elizabeth Dyke, on 4 July 1785 at Barnes, Surrey, England^G.^1,3 She married, secondly, Captain Hon. Matthew Fortescue, son of Matthew Fortescue, 2nd Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill and Anne Campbell, on 6 June 1795.¹ She died on 2 September 1841.³ She was also reported to have died on 5 September 1841.⁵ She was buried at Barnes, Surrey, England^G.³
     From 4 July 1785, her married name became Acland. From 6 June 1795, her married name became Fortescue.

     Sir Richard Hoare, 1st Bt. was born on 7 March 1734/35.³ He was the son of Sir Richard Hoare and Sarah Tully.³ He married, firstly, Anne Hoare, daughter of Henry Hoare and Susan Colt, on 20 March 1756.³ He married, secondly, Frances Anne Acland, daughter of Richard Acland, on 7 May 1761.⁴ He died on 11 October 1787 at age 52.
     He lived at Stourhead, Wiltshire, England^G.⁴ He was created 1st Baronet Hoare, of Barn Elms, co. Surrey [Great Britain] on 27 June 1786.³

     Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. was born on 29 March 1787 at South Audley Street, Mayfair, London, England^G.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 5th/9th Bt. and Henrietta Anne Hoare.¹ He was baptised on 18 April 1787 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He married Lydia Elizabeth Hoare, daughter of Henry Hoare and Lydia Henrietta Mallortie, on 7 April 1808 at Mitcham, Surrey, England^G.^1,2 He died on 22 July 1871 at age 84 at Killerton, Devon, England^G.²
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1678] on 17 May 1794.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1644] on 17 May 1794.³ He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.² He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 29 May 1805.^1,2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1808 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He held the office of Sheriff of Devon from 1809 to 1810.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon between 1812 and 1818.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon between 1820 and 1831.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1824 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)^1,2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 15 June 1831.^1,2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Devon between 1837 and 1857.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
