John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles1 
He was educated at King’s College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.2 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court between 1672 and 1677.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1685 in the Earl of Perth’s Horse.2 He was Commissioner of Perthshire in 1687.2 He held the office of Commissioner of Police and Customs.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (for Perthshire [Scotland] between 1705 and 1708.2 In 1715 he supported the Government in the Jacobite Uprising, when his house and property damaged by rebels.2 He had three other sons (who all died young) by his first wife, and two sons and a daughter (who all died young) by his second wife.2
