Robert Radcliffe, 5th Earl of Sussex1 
Robert Radcliffe, 5th Earl of Sussex was born on 12 June 1573.1 He was the son of Henry Radcliffe, 4th Earl of Sussex and Honor Pound.3,1 He married, firstly, Bridget Morrison, daughter of Sir Charles Morrison and Dorothy Clerke, before 1592.1 He married, secondly, Frances Meautys, daughter of Hercules Meautys, in December 1623.1 He died on 22 September 1629 at age 56.1
He succeeded as the 5th Viscount FitzWalter [E., 1525] on 14 December 1593.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Sussex [E., 1529] on 14 December 1593.1 He succeeded as the 14th Lord FitzWalter [E., 1295] on 14 December 1593.1 He fought in the Cadiz Expedition in 1596.1 He was appointed Knight in 1596.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1596 in the a foot regiment.1 He held the office of Earl Marshal between October 1597 and December 1597.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1599.1 In February 1600/1 He was briefly placed under house arrest for alleged complicity in Essex’s Rebellion.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Essex between 1603 and 1625.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Essex between 1626 and 1629.1 He had three other children by his first wife, who all died young.1

He was Commissioner of Excise between 1720 and 1728.1 He was created 1st Earl FitzWalter [Great Britain] on 16 May 1725.1 He was created 1st Viscount Harwich, co. Essex [Great Britain] on 16 May 1725.1 He succeeded as the 19th Lord FitzWalter [E., 1295] on 16 February 1727/28.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1735.1 He held the office of First Lord of Trade between 1735 and 1737.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Household.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Essex between 1741 and 1756.1 On his death, his earldom and viscountancy became extinct.1
Conyers Darcy, 1st Earl of Holderness1 
Conyers Darcy, 1st Earl of Holderness was baptised on 24 June 1599.3 He was the son of Conyers Darcy, 7th Lord Darcy de Knayth and Dorothy Belasyse.4 He married Grace Rokeby, daughter of Thomas Rokeby and Mary Cartwright, on 14 October 1616.1 He died on 14 June 1689 at age 89.1
He also had two elder sons and three younger sons.3 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Conyers [E., 1509] on 3 March 1653/54.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Darcy de Knayth [E., 1322] on 3 March 1653/54.1 He held the office of Constable of Middleham Castle between 1660 and 1671.3 He was created 1st Earl of Holderness [England] on 5 December 1682.1
