     John Haldane was born on 22 December 1693.¹ He was the son of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine.² He married Helen Scott, daughter of David Scott.¹ He died in January 1726 at age 32.¹
     He was College of Customs at Prestonpans.¹

     David Scott was a practising advocate.¹

     Helen Scott was the daughter of David Scott.² She married John Haldane, son of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine.¹ She died on 21 September 1738.¹
     Her married name became Haldane.¹

     John Haldane was the son of John Haldane and Helen Scott.² He died before 22 August 1739.¹

     Captain Robert Haldane was the son of John Haldane and Helen Scott.² He died on 22 August 1761 at Madras, India^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the War of Austrian Succession between 1743 and 1748, against the French.¹ He fought in the Seven Years’ War between 1756 and 1760.¹ He fought in the Relief of Pondicherry in January 1761.¹

     David Haldane was the son of John Haldane and Helen Scott.² He died in June 1753, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹

     Robert Haldane, 1st of Airthrey and 17th of Gleneagles was born on 16 March 1705.³ He was the son of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine.³ He married Elizabeth Oglander, daughter of Sir William Oglander, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Strode, on 29 September 1742.³ He died on 31 December 1767 at age 62, without issue.³
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Honourable East india Company Service.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sitrling Burghs between 1758 and 1761.³ In 1759 he bought Airthrey from James Dundas of Manor.³ In 1760 he bought Gleneagles from his half-brother Patrick.³ He held the office of Provost of Inverkeithing in 1760.³ In 1766 he executed the entail by which his nephew George Cockburn inherited.³ He held the office of Provost of Inverkeithing between 1767 and 1768.³

     Ann Haldane was the daughter of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine.² She died, unmarried.¹

     Margaret Haldane is the daughter of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine.² She married Charles Cockburn of Sandybed, son of Adam Cockburn, Lord Ormiston and Lady Susanna Hamilton, in 1720.¹

     James Wedderburn was born on 23 September 1814.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. James Wedderburn and Isabella Clerk.¹ He died on 17 July 1863 at age 48 at Craven Street, London, England, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Brompton Cemetery, Brompton, London, England^G.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)²
