Sir Henry Hobart, 1st Bt. was born in 1560.2 He was the son of Thomas Hobart and Audrey Hare.1 He married Dorothy Bell, daughter of Sir Robert Bell and Dorothy Beaupre, on 21 April 1590 at Blickling, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He died on 29 December 1625.1 He was buried on 4 January 1625/26 at Blickling, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 7 March 1625/26.1
He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn on 10 August 1575.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Ives from 1588 to 1589.1 He held the office of Steward of Norwich in 1595.1 In 1596 he purchased the estate of Intwood.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yarmouth in 1597.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yarmouth in 1601.1 He was a practising Serjeant-at-Law between 1603 and 1606.1 He was appointed Knight on 23 July 1603.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Norwich between 1604 and 1611.1 He was a practising Attorney for the Court of Wards in 1605.1 He held the office of Attorney-General between 1606 and 1613.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hobart, of Intwood, Norfolk [England] on 11 May 1611.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas between 1613 and 1625.1 In 1616 he purchased the estate of Blickling, Norfolk.1 His last will was dated 26 July 1625.
