     He was a practising barrister-at-law in 1833.³ He held the office of Recorder of Warwick between 1848 and 1852.³ He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1851.³ He held the office of Recorder of Leicester between 1855 and 1861.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yarmouth between 1857 and 1859.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Nottingham between 1859 and 1861.³ He held the office of Judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court between 1861 and 1879.⁴ He was a practising Serjeant-at-Law in 1862.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1879.³ He lived at Otterhead, Honiton, Devon, England.³ He lived at Kingsdown House, Kent, England.³

     Maria Florence Mellor was born circa 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Sir James Robert Mellor.² She married Sir Ernest Makins, son of Henry Francis Makins and Keziah Elizabeth Hunt, on 31 January 1903.¹ She died on 11 August 1972.¹
     From 31 January 1903, her married name became Makins.

     Very Rev. Hastings Rashdall married Constance Makins, daughter of Henry Francis Makins and Keziah Elizabeth Hunt, on 22 July 1905.¹ He died on 9 February 1924.¹
     He was Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)² He was Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.)² He was a Fellow and Tutor at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He was Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)² He held the office of Dean of Carlisle.¹

     Arthur Walsh, 2nd Baron Ormathwaite was born on 14 April 1827.¹ He was the son of John Benn Walsh, 1st Baron Ormathwaite and Lady Jane Grey.² He married Lady Katherine Emily Mary Somerset, daughter of Henry Somerset, 7th Duke of Beaufort and Emily Frances Smith, on 20 July 1858.³ He died on 27 March 1920 at age 92.¹
     He gained the title of 2nd Baron Ormathwaite. He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Walsh on 3 February 1881.

     Guy Herbert Makins was born on 5 July 1906.¹ He was the son of Sir Ernest Makins and Maria Florence Mellor.¹ He died on 17 September 1923 at age 17, as the result of an accident.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.²

     Major Geoffrey Henry Makins was born on 19 October 1915.¹ He was the son of Sir Ernest Makins and Maria Florence Mellor.¹ He died on 4 September 1944 at age 28 at Normandy, France^G, from wounds received in action.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.² He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Royal Dragoons.² He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)²

     Joseph Drake is the son of Sir Francis Drake, 1st Bt. and Joan Strode.^1,2 He married Margaret Crymes.³

     Bamfylde Drake was born on 12 April 1670 at Buckland Monachorum, Devon, England^G.¹ He was the son of Joseph Drake and Margaret Crymes.^1,2 He married Katherine Stone, daughter of Richard Stone and Katherine Strange, on 8 May 1692 at West Hamney, Berkshire, England^G.² He died circa June 1729.¹ He was buried on 20 June 1729 at Farway, Devon, England^G.¹
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1693 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was the Rector between 1700 and 1729 at Farway, Devon, England^G.¹
