     Lt.-Col. John Harvey Pinches was born on 9 April 1916.² He married Rosemary V. Bidder in 1952 at Henley, Oxfordshire, England^G.^1,3 He died on 2 July 2007 at age 91.²
     He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa, Palestine, Greece and Italy.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) on 22 September 1943 at Salerno.¹ He retired from the military, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Royal Engineers.² He was He ran the family medallion business (which produced badges, insignias and awards for the British and other governments), until it was sold to Franklin Mint in 1969.²
