Rt. Rev. William Talbot

Rt. Rev. William Talbot was baptised on 2 July 1658.2 He was the son of William Talbot and Mary Doughty.2 He married Catherine King, daughter of Richard King.2 He died on 10 October 1730 at age 72.
He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 23 June 1680 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham.2 He held the office of Dean of Worcester in 1691.2 He held the office of Bishop of Oxford between 1699 and 1715.2 He held the office of Bishop of Salisbury between 1715 and 1722.2 He held the office of Bishop of Durham in 1722.2

Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol1 
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1710 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General to the Prince of Wales in 1717.2 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in January 1718/19.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Tregony between 1720 and 1722.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Durham from 1722 to 1723.2 He held the office of Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn in 1726.2 He held the office of Bencher of Inner Temple in 1726.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1726 and 1733.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1733.2 He held the office of Lord Chancellor from 1733 to February 1736/37.2 He was created 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol, co. Glamorgan [Great Britain] on 5 December 1733.1

William Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot1 
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Glamorgan between 1734 and 1737.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Talbot of Hensol, co. Glamorgan [G.B., 1733] on 14 February 1736/37.1 He and Frances Scudamore were associated eloped even though both were married at the time.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1760 in the Glamorgan Militia.1 He held the office of Lord Steward of teh Household between 1761 and 1782.1 He was created 1st Earl Talbot [Great Britain] on 10 March 1761.1 He was created 1st Baron Dynevor of Dynevor, co. Carmarthen [Great Britain] on 17 October 1780, with special remainder to his daughter.3
On his death, the Earldom became extinct. The Barony of Talbot of Hensol reverted to his nephew who was advanced to the Earldom 3 July 1784.
