Nicholas Eden, 2nd Earl of Avon 2

     Nicholas Eden, 2nd Earl of Avon was born on 3 October 1930.1 He was the son of Robert Anthony Eden, 1st Earl of Avon and Beatrice Helen Beckett.1 He died on 17 August 1985 at age 54, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1949 and 1951 in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.3 He was Aide-de-Camp to Governor-General of Canada between 1952 and 1953.3 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel|Queen’s Royal Rifles (TA) between 1965 and 1967.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1968 in the 4th (Volunteer) Battalion, Royal Green Jackets.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Avon [U.K., 1961] on 14 January 1977.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Eden, of Royal Leamington Spa, co. Warwick [U.K., 1961] on 14 January 1977.1
     On his death, his titles became extinct.1

     Captain Francis Walter Montagu Douglas Scott was born on 5 March 1860.1 He was the son of Lord Walter Charles Montagu Douglas Scott and Anna Maria Cradock-Hartopp.1 He married, firstly, Katherine Charlotte Portal, daughter of Melville Portal and Lady Charlotte Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, on 16 April 1896.1 He married, secondly, Ethelreda Marjory Bridges, daughter of Reverend Thomas Lane Coulson Bridges and Catharine Eva Stuart, on 25 May 1929.1 He died on 5 January 1942 at age 81, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 52nd Light Infantry.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment.1

L. Heriot and Smarajda Musurus, on 31 May 1897.1 He died on 27 March 1969 at age 98, without issue.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Lovat Scouts.1 He fought in the First World War, with the Egyptian Army in Sudan.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.1

     Major Sir David John Montagu Douglas Scott was born on 7 March 1887.1 He was the son of Admiral Lord Sir Charles Thomas Montagu Douglas Scott and Ada Mary Ryan.1 He married, firstly, Dorothy Charlotte Drummond, daughter of Cecil George Assheton Drummond and Charlotte Amelia Brook, on 14 June 1918.1 He married, secondly, Valerie Finnis, daughter of Commander Steriker Finnis and Constance Mary Barford, on 31 July 1970.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was a clerk at the Foreign Office in 1911.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was Counsellor Embassy, Foreign Office in 1933.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major in 1937.1 He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary of State in 1938.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1941.1 He held the office of Deputy Under-Secretary of State in 1944.1
