He was given the name of Arthur Algernon Capel at birth.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Essex [E., 1661] on 23 April 1839.1 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Malden, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 23 April 1839.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Capell of Hadham, co. Hereford [E., 1641] on 23 April 1839.1 On 23 July 1880 his name was legally changed to Arthur Algernon Capell by Royal Licence.1

Beatrice Helen Beckett was born on 26 July 1905.3 She was the daughter of Sir William Gervase Beckett, 1st Bt. and Hon. Mabel Theresa Duncombe.1,3 She married Robert Anthony Eden, 1st Earl of Avon, son of Sir William Eden, 5th/7th Bt. and Sybil Frances Grey, on 5 November 1923.1 She and Robert Anthony Eden, 1st Earl of Avon were divorced in 1950.1 She died on 29 June 1957 at age 51.1
Her married name became Eden.
